Wolf Alice

Now feeling more comparable to 'myself' for not working 50+hpw any more, one or two of Deezer's recommendations have been gaining my attention..

I lately found something fantastic in the form of Wolf Alice and particularly the two EP's Blush and Moaning Lisa Smile. I think they're worth mentioning here at first as I drew some parallels to Howling Bells, then The Joy Formidable & Tame Impala. Consistently there's a noticable amount of emotion in the writing and the playing; I think though that based on the EP to EP transgression so far I'd be pushed to say they're 'settled' in a set sound. I am sure that they will turn up with an outstanding album and will continue to surf the relatively massive wave of success that has sprung up around them..

I knew I'd come across the name Wolf Alice before, but couldn't remember where. It was because I'd seen it on the Leadmill's gig listing.... If only I'd known earlier....

I've listened to the whole of Wolf Alice's (not yet huge) catalogue today on Spotify, and they are now my current second-favourite band! I will buy it all tomorrow!

Having planned my days at Reading I have to say Wolf Alice are the one band playing at the Festival which I honestly couldn't stand to miss. I think they're one of the most creative, energetic and different bands to emerge in a while...

On the recent PBS FM inteview - see Media section - Juanita says one of the best new bands around is Wolf Alice. Good girl!

Edit - well, it finished the week at No.2, but the principle's the same!
