Hi all
Had a slightly strange and certainly unexpected experience today. Feeling a little peckish, my brother and I took a short break from work to get something to nibble on from a newly-opened shop right next to my workplace, just off Pentonville Road. After grabbing a coke I made my way to the where the croissants are kept and on my way there passed an oddly familiar looking girl who was mumbling something to herself about buying groceries. It took about 5 seconds to realise who it was and that realisation was confirmed moments later as I noticed three more familiar faces near the front of the shop.
I paid for my items and turned to one of them who was standing behind me at the counter. "Hey - Howling Bells? Glen, right?" I asked, freezing completely as I finished my sentence. "Yeah" he (probably) said as he looked at me as if to say "Um, do I know you?". Struggling to think of something to follow that up with I ventured - "Looking forward to the new album!" which came out all garbled and incomprehensible so I repeated it and asked when it was coming out, although I already knew of course. I then mentioned something to the effect of loving their new songs - especially Radio Wars. And that was about it! I quickly said goodbye and left, feeling a little bit of a git for not being able to talk more naturally, you know, like a normal person would do, although I was slightly relieved it wasn't Juanita. Once I tried to strike up a conversation with her after a record signing which was kind of a disaster!
Anyway - thats it really. Nothing amazing - but It certainly made my day
