I've recently rediscovered Metric - odds are if you're an alternative rock fan you already know of the Canadian band, but they're worth mentioning nontheless. Their myspace. Most of it is pretty dancy/electronic-y, so if that's not your cup of tea skip to the next paragraph now.
I only just found out that the singer, Emily Haines, also has a solo record. Her voice definitely reminds me of Juanita at times - you should check out "Doctor Blind" and "Crowd Surf Off A Cliff" on her myspace.
