Wishing Stone
Setting Sun
Velvet Girl
Across the Avenue
Blessed Night
NEW SONG!!!
(now the ones I had to miss , I'm sure someone can confirm they were played)
Night is Young
Broken Bones
Low Happening
Wow.
WH you are most certainly right in the 'absence making the heart grow fonder' ..
The band enterred the stage , around 12 mins late after a brief sound check (the Sunset stage running fashionably late as usual it would appear) ..Juanita looking her best yet - nothing I can place but most definately the best yet - Brendan smooth shaven and looking a good 5 years younger for it hehe ...
Wishing Stone was the BEST version I've ever heard , its the 7th time I've seen them and tonight it was from the word go as tight as tight can possibly be .. I had to go and photograph Arcade Bore er I mean Fire for the paper so had to leg it before the set ended but there was NO WAY I was moving before I had heard the song known only as 'NEW' on the set list I had read from the stage floor ...
Mmm how to describe .. I think the tempo was kinda Wishing Stoney and a keyboard & bass intro cuts into a jaunty & happy (but in a dark HB way) guitar riff .. Glenn pulls of an immaculate interesting drum beat for the verse whilst Juanita seems to sing a story in , again a dark happy way , and after two short chorusses we have a quick Joel workout on the guitar (yay as always) .
Juanita explained before the song that it was the end of the tour and they were shortly off to record the next album (yay) and this new song was , as yet untitled and that they would welcome names for it , after the show.
Regrettably I had to dash to the other side of the grounds to take photos but I can say it was a cracking performance that I had to leave early.
Well done HB and good luck with the recording !!
