Went to see Wolf Alice at the Leadmill on Friday night - tremendous!
They started with 'Fluffy' and went through most of their (so far limited) catalogue of songs. There was a bit of a lull in the middle when they played a couple of new ones from their forthcoming debut album (out on June 22nd), which obviously weren't familiar to most people, but they went out with a bang with 'Blush', 'Giant Peach' (the brilliant new single) and finally the rocking 'Moaning Lisa Smile', when they were joined on stage by Eoin Loveless of Drenge, who took over Ellie's guitar while she frenziedly jumped around.
Oh, and as I was on my way to the pub for a pre-gig pint, I passed Theo (bass player) and Joel (drummer) in the street near the pub! Unfortunately I didn't realise it was them until they were past me, otherwise I would have had a word. I was hoping the other two (Ellie and Joff) might be in the pub, but no such luck.

Fantastic. I can't believe these dates have already come and gone! To keep things simple, through choice I'm on a 'haitus' of sorts from the gigging lifestyle; I'd love to have come along though; sounds like it was a good one!

I went to see Wolf Alice twice on their most recent UK tour, at Leeds O2 Academy and Nottingham Rock City. They really must be the most the most exciting British band around at the moment. At Rock City we were on the balcony and had a great view of the stage and the Mosh Pit, which was great to watch. You can't really see what's going on in a Mosh Pit from ground level, but from above it was eye opening!
