I've had the pleasure to have seen The Killers three times from 2005 to this year. I lost my concert virginity to them! ;D
The first time was on their Hot Fuss tour and they came to Tempe, Phoenix, Arizona, it was a good show but a lot smaller than the other two venues and also not as flashy. The opening band was Tegean & Sara, they werent loved by the crowd but I thought they were good.
The second time I went to Las Vegas, Nevada and they were playing at The Hard Rock hotel & casino. Again it was the Hot Fuss tour. The venue was alot bigger and it was at the end of the tour so they played every song from the album and afew more obscure songs including a cover of David Bowie's Moonage Daydream. The stage was decoraded in a very Las Vegas way, it shined like the strip.
The third was their Sams Town tour in Phoenix. All three shows were amazing in their own way but this one was by far the best I've seen. The opening band, Howling Bells, need I say more? hehe. This time the stage was more extravagant than before but in a different way, less Las Vegas. They played some Hot Fuss songs and most songs from Sams Town they also threw in a cover of Joy Division's Shadowplay.
I was lucky, every show I was right in front on the gate in the GA section. I more than enjoyed their shows and if you're a fan/victim of The Killers I highly suggest, if you have the chance, to see them. Their all great show men, Brandon Flowers has good connection with the crowd.
Anyone els seen them?
