Favourite albums, people! I think I've pretty much heard all the big/best ones, but maybe I can still discover some new stuff.
My favourites: Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs Sigur Ros - Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid Coldplay - Viva La Vida
Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Snow Patrol, Cold War Kids were also good. I'm counting In Rainbows as 2007 and Radio Wars as 2009, obviously.
And what's everyone looking forward to in 2009? Apart from the new Howling Bells album I can't wait to get my hands on the new Metric, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and One eskimO's debut album.

This is a good idea, but only if you can translate that Icelandic Sigur Ros title into English.
I'm going to carry on the Icelandic theme here too, with Emiliana Torrini. My faves of '08:
THE LONG BLONDES - "Couples"
EMILIANA TORRINI - Me and Armini
ABI TUCKER - One December Moon
GOLDFRAPP - Seventh Tree
LAZENBY - The Loft Years
I was going to have "THE DUKE SPIRIT - Neptune" as my No.1 until I looked at the CD and found it was 2007!

My favourites so far: - Steve Kilbey - Painkiller
- Motorpsycho - Little Lucid Moments
- Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree
- Sigur Rós - Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust
- Emilíana Torrini - Me And Armini
Apart from these I also like the new albums by The Notwist ("The Devil, You + Me"), Bang Gang ("Ghosts From The Past"), Pugwash ("Eleven Modern Antiques") and The Verlaines ("Pot Boiler") As for 2009: Looking forward to the new HB album of course, and towards about one to four releases by The Church (if they don't get delayed again). Hopefully there'll also be new releases by Bat For Lashes and Dimmer

It was a good year. Some very good German albums came out.
Tomte - Heureka Fotos - Nach dem Goldrausch Kettcar - Sylt Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul Weezer - Red Album Niels Frevert - Du Kannst Mich An Der Ecke Rauslassen The Streets - Everything Is Borrowed Herrenmagazin - Atzelgift Ef - I Am Responsible Travis - Ode To J. Smith The Kills - Midnight Boom
For you who wrote Sigur Rós, the album of Ef - I am Responsible could be interesting. Swedish Post-rock.
The next year will start good. Looking forward to the new John Frusciante album 'The Emyprean' and then to 'Radio Wars'.

But 2008 is not over yet! There might be somebody still preparing his/her list. Yes, the Goldfrapster is a good choice. It fits to so many moods.
