That Slowburn-clip in Soundcloud is probably not the whole song, is it? It starts without much intro and it's only 2:36 long. Okay rocker anyway and Joel's guitar stuff is always so stylish and cinematic beast. Is there a place to buy / download this song? Juanita's singing style sounds a bit different as well. A bit more direct I suppose. A certain directness and sketchiness has always suited the band, and in that regard 11 days in the studio sounds just fine to me. Not too much polish like there was in Radio Wars. The songs in the teaser video are more promising, as they are spacier, which is always a good thing IMO as the bells are so good to create spaces.
I think the new album will be just the right thing for my summer rotation. I only wish the band could create some continuity with the labels instead of this stop and go career of theirs but the most important thing is that the new album is coming and nobody can't deny their fierce independent spirit.

I think perhaps their best yet or perhaps equal to no 1 a continuation in a way, full circle back to the beginning and that's a good thing

New album coming soon! This is great news!
Always looking forward to new Howling Bells material. It's a shame that more people don't know about this talented band.
Love the new track Slowburn as well. The band sounds great and I can't wait to hear the whole album.

The Olso venue seems pretty cool actually nice looking bar / restaurant and the venue upstairs is intimate shall we say, smaller than the Scala in Kings Cross, nearly as small as the Lexington I reckon HB posters everywhere last night - even in blue

S'more interview goodness here londontheinside.com/2014/03/14/interview-howling-bellsWith a lot of groups' "run-up" interviews it can all too often feel like you're essentialy reading the same words just re-apportioned to the given publication; I commend The Band for giving us so much more in terms of variety so as to ensure that each new interview is an interesting read right through. Following on, just to add to the above I like the short piece on XFM.com - www.xfm.co.uk/new-music/howling-bells-slowburn/Particularly Juanita's comments.

I see from this that the band's manager is now Mr Juanita. We can therefore take it as read that he will have the band's best interests at heart...
I think he is/was The Killers' tour manager.

Coincidentally I was reading various articles Juanita has contributed under her "Golden Lady" guise (via linkage from our good lady's Facebook page). She mentions her hub'ie is a professional tour manager & as such has much experience in the field. Manager.. Tour Manager.. Same guy? I presume this would be so: adding up what Blade mentions. If so he is the new manager superseding album 3 era's guy from Wonderland (M Forrest if my recollect serves me right ?) (and anyone in between if there was at all) .
So all told the Heartstrings era is looking pretty good thus far with the best possible production, management and a strong and so far very well received lead single with video to boot; which I'm sure shall be well placed and duly raise interest by the plenty. Go Bells!!

This being so close now, all I can say is I'm truly sorry not to be able to get down South for such a special one. I do hope to be down for the next show (I believe they've mentioned a liklihood of more UK dates later in the year) Having said this I'm booked up for Liverpool and Leeds (I've also got my mum coming to the Leeds show, The Brudenell Social being a place she's more content to visit than the Cockpit). In fact I'm fair willing to bet Nath and the gang will give the band and their crew the best treatment of all the venues based on how they value the patrons - it's certainly well worth a Saturday trip up to Leeds if you like an undescribably nice atmosphere complimented by a decent bar; aside the well known Guinness everything on draft from the San Miguel to the imported Strawberry Beer to the Pepsi tastes great and is surprisingly cheap./proud ramble. Likewise I'll take any pretense for a weekend in Liverpool, top city so it is.. I'm also likely going to the Sheffield show at the Leadmill and am considering Manchester Deaf Institute.

Looking forward to the new album! New stuff sounds great, and the band aren't on the front cover, which is always a good thing. On just over half an hour though

Any news on a physical release for Heartstrings? Rather have it on CD than just an iTunes download... Nothing has appeared on amazon etc
