To help pass the time until the band resurfaces, how about favourite song from each of the three albums and one b-side or a track from the Pledge Music EP?
Howling Bells - Blessed Night (but I could probably make a case for most of them!) Radio Wars - Into the Chaos The Loudest Engine - Secrets B-side - Starry Eyes
Actually thinking about it there were some really good songs on that Pledge Music EP. Particularly Crossroads and Arrows. Shame they didn't make it onto The Loudest Engine.

Howling Bells - Setting Sun Radio Wars - Cities Burning Down The Loudest Engine - Don't Run Pledge EP- Crossroads
Still love Setting Sun to bits. My personal classic track even if the world doesn't know it's a classic.
Cities Burning Down has that gloom and Into the Chaos is not that far behind. Even if Radio Wars didn't completely live up to expectations I think these two tracks are right up there among their best tracks. Atmospheres, Joel solos...love em.
I often listen the Loudest Engine starting from Secrets and Don't Run. For some reason the dreaminess of Don't Run appeals to me the most after the rockers. The Wilderness would be the strange rock number I would pick next.
EP had good songs but Crossroads is my fave. I even suggested here before the release of the Loudest Engine that Crossroads should be the title of the album. of course I also thought that Crossroads would be in the album.

NB when we say favourites, they'd only be so by a whisker or two and are likely impacted by how I feel at the given time....
Blessed Night Digital Hearts Secrets Breaking My Back
Arrows, Low Happening, In The Woods, The Night Is Young, To LA, Treasure Hunt, Into The Chaos, Golden Web, Charlatan, Into The Sky, Live On, Loudest Engine, Gold Suns White Guns, Sioux, Baby Blue, The Wilderness, Don't Run, The Faith, Velvet Girl, Crossroads, Today.. & of course Setting Sun also crossed my mind...
I feel like whilst one could argue that the first album had better constructed and recorded songs, the power the most recent stuff has over my mind and mood really is, well, powerful...

A bit of consistency here, plus a bit of variation. I'd go for:
Howling Bells - Blessed Night Radio Wars - Digital Hearts The Loudest Engine - Baby Blue B-side - This City's Burning EP - Crossroads

Howling Bells - Setting Sun. I know it's an obvious choice but its perfect in my mind Radio Wars - it's a toss up between Into The Chaos (which I've sadly never seen live) and Cities Burning Down The Loudest Engine - Secrets, The Faith or Sioux - sorry, it's naff I can't pick an absolute favourite off the top of my head at present.
HB EP - Invisible or Arrows - some really interesting stuff on this collection
BSide - Today

HB > The Night is Young RW > Golden Web TLE > The Faith EP > Arrows B-side > Breaking My Back Difficult to pick favorite songs from any of these albums bcoz their whole catalog is amazing. But I will also add that if it weren't for hearing them play Cities Burning Down that night in Des Moines, Iowa I would probably not be here.

Hello folks! This is my first post. Unfortunately I haven't got any b-sides. Also I missed the time their EP was available for pledgers. That's very sad. But nevertheless here are my favs from their first three albums:
1. Broken Bones 2. Ms. Bell's Song 3. Don't Run

Hello and Welcome to you Tarik Thanks for sharing your favourites with us. I'm sure with content to be found on here, especially in the media section, or if not that a bit of googling around and you should be able to find most of the b-sides / ep tracks; there's really a wealth on youtube etc including many live jems. Plenty to find and buy too if you're real serious - over the years I bought many old singles up, quite a while after they came and went, via ebay, amazon & etc but I think there are mp3's out there to be found too.
