The Olympics for me don't get going till the athletics start, but the cycling and swimming have been pretty exciting so far.
But anyway ... roll on Friday - Come on Jess!!

I should be watching more. I always get this feeling during the olympics.. Mum won a couple of tickets to 'an event' later turning out to be the men's volleyball 1/4finals at Earls Court, so we're off down to that next Wednesday night. We plan to spend some time on Thurs soaking up the atmosphere, which should be pretty electric by that point I'm hoping!

Must say I'm massively proud of TG B with our third place medal haul - only several days ago we were round 10th and I was saying 'we're doing really well, I don't think we could ask for better'. But I'm even more proud of Team Yorkshire placing 12 in the international medal tables with 12 medals total 7 of which Gold (matching the Australian & Japanese Gold hauls) - a massive achievement given our relatively small population of 6 million. Me & my Mum had a fantastic time in Earls Court watching a couple of Volleyball quarterfinals, the atmosphere for Poland v Russia was electric, was impressed to see Russia win in a game which was very close & tense at times, unhindered by the humongous turnout of support for Poland and all the hissing and booing every time they served. We avoided the Olympic Park the next day and had a wonderful time down by the Thames & in Camden's markets - I guess the Park's not going to go anywhere and getting in without a ticket to an event there sounded something between troublesome & impossible.
