I managed to buy purchase tickets in the frenzy the day they went on sale. London Troxy looks like a brilliant venue. It will be my first time seeing them live even though I've been a fan for years It will be my third time - so excited! Troxy is a very nice venue actually not too big not too small- very art deco!

Riseandfall, innumerable thanks for all that Garbage stuff you sent me!!
I'll be in Garbage overload for the next few days but there's nothing wrong with that!!
My love affair with Garbage is about 17 years old but has ebbed and flowed in time with the release of their albums, so at the moment I'm riding high upon a deep depression!

Garbage just payed their first gig proper in 7 years- this was the set list:
Supervixen Temptation Waits Shut Your Mouth Metal Heart Queer Stupid Girl Why do you love me #1Crush The Trick Is To Keep Breathing Vow Blood For Poppies Man On A Wire Milk Bad Boyfriend I think I'm Paranoid Only Happy When It Rains Push It
Encore Special The World Is Not Enough Battle In Me
Some of these songs haven't been performed since 1998, like TWINE and TTITKB - I'm amazed with this - even more excited now for the live shows

Nice mixed up set list. Good to see quite a variety of their back catalogue being played. Supervixen is probably my favourite opening song on any album, so its great to see their kicking off with that

Well, the Troxy gig was a little bit awesome! I honestly wasn't expecting the band to be that good, not that I had low expectations or anything but they blew my socks off! Push It proved to bve an absolute barnstormer live (which was a pleasant surprise as I had always been a bit ambivalent about that song) and the World Is Not Enough was really moving. Great show full of highlights.

Cool cool, you've got me looking forward to my first time seeing them when they come to Manchester all the more now, not that I weren't already.

Just listened to it - outstanding - can't wait for the CD! Enjoy the gig riseandfall! [edit] 10-50pm - CD ordered from Amazon! Its a return to form - fantastic album! I've just returned from Paris, where I saw Garbage perform not once, but twice! After over 10 years as die hard fan I finally had my moment to meet Shirley Manson, my hero. And she was a delight! I managed to go with a friend from Australia and a long term French fan (who has been credited on the last 2 garbage albums no less) to a television recording of 11 songs on the outskirts of Paris, called Album de la Semaine. Garbage performed: Automatic Systematic Habit Queer Blood For Poppies Stupid Girl Man On A Wire The Trick Is To Keep Breathing Special Battle In Me Only Happy When It Rains Push It Vow I couldn't believe my luck! It was so amazing to see my fav band perform in such an intimate setting. Here is a pic of them a critic took: Best bit was they had to redo the first two songs as Shirley got lipstick on her teeth lol Then, they had to redo Queer a third time as she fluffed the lyrics. Then. It. Happened. She pointed me out in the audience and went "but I'm going to look at him cos he has been singing all the words all night. You are my wing man - don't let me down. Everyone look at him" or something to that effect it was such a blur. Then, she sang the opening line to Queer very suggestively right at me "Hey boy take a look at me". So I replied with the "let me dirty up your mind!" My idol not only acknowledged me but I prompted her to sing her own words back at her. It was the line "but you can't stop!". I was on cloud nine - high as a kite. I met her afterwards along with the rest of the band backstage. She was an absolute angel. My friend Rik said she said something like "There you are! Thank you darling for tonight". To which I exclaimed "I love you so much!". Then got a pic... Met them the next day at the FNAC signing in the centre of Paris and the gig itself at the Olympia was just fantastic, same setlist as Troxy but equally good gig.
