Uh yeah they got about 50% if they hadn't lowered the pledge amount, haha. Glad they did though.

They had 200 as the limit at first. Now it´s 141. So, in a sense I wasn´t really wrong about being a bit pessimistic about it. Still it was kinda refreshing way to expect it to come out. These days the stuff just pops out and is forgotten quite soon. I will remember the build up to Bells #3 for a long time.
16 hours still to go...come on...

We're getting the EP right away, right?
And I think the limit was 250 first actually

I love Crosby, Stills, and Nash and this new stuff really reminds me of them. Very folky. Also, the Fleetwood Mac. Crossroads is awesome! Melody is so wonderful and Joel's changes are sick! Glenn's drums really stand out too. Man, Crossroads, are you kidding me!? What a great song. It is so beautiful. Well done. Arrows is cool and Joel's guitar at the start reminds me of Bob Dylan's, Rocks and Gravel... build a solid road. Again, Joel's bridge changes are unbelievable and fit so well. Midnight Cowboy is strange. The big Midnight Cowboy parts that are sort of in your face, reminds me of a generic 70's movie soundtrack or something. I don't know if it was intentional or what, but it's not bad. Juanita sounds as good as she ever has, and Brendan is taking his bass line for a walk in this one. The song is really growing on me. In fact, I like it a lot. Definitely different than any Howling Bells we've ever heard before. They should be applauded for reaching out and exploring different areas of music. Listening to these over and over and it's definitely all good stuff. What a talented band. I can't wait for the album. The jam in the middle of the video sounded familiar to me. For those who don't know, it's the legendary Doors - The Spy.

I'm not as keen on 'Midnight Cowboy', but it's certainly not without its merits. That's what I thought when I first heard it too, but listen closer my brew... Juanita sounds so good.

Yup, it sounds good. I have to agree with many posts here. People know their Bells. In the middle of the debut and Radio Wars, but there is more elements of jamming and more psychedelia, which is fine by me. Sound is very natural and there is not much gloss and fairy dust on the songs, in fact it´s really dry. If the sound was a burger it would have only the roll and steak, no salad and mayo. Crossroads is just pure sex, love and magic. It feels like a song that I have known for years. Thanks, this one made my day.
If the Bells will make more of these self-released ep´s then I might suggest having more care with the presentation of their music. If your song is called Arrows then it should be labeled Arrows with all the necessary ID-tags. The right title is not "3.Arrows 16.11-3-11 Master". Also it would be useful to have a real name for an EP, even if it´s only in digital form. A high res cover image would be good to be included in the files as most players will show that.
All this could and should be done if you plan to sell this stuff in exchange for money. It doesn´t take much time to do all that little extra work but it shows that you are doing it for real. I have supported many small indie artists before. For example I have received files with perfect ID-tags and high res 1500 x 1500 pixel images from one-man-band small time artists who show their stuff in bandcamp etc. That is what people expect.

I really dig Arrows. And yeah it's a bit of a shoddy presentation.

I saw that a few of you guys had already commented so I made sure I listened before reading what any of you had said and I can't really add anything.... you've all summed it up so well.
The first thing I thought was Fleetwood Mac-ish and then a half-way house between the two albums - like some of you have already said!
The presentation could be better, yes, ("Invivible"?) but ultimately it's the sound that counts, and the sound is great.

Was that ! after 'songtitles' there before?!

Just received this email from Pledge after inquiring about how to obtain the EP:
Hi Paul,
Once the project is released, the pledging period is closed. I'd reach out to HB through their social network sites to find out how to purchase now!
Best,
Team Pledge
So basically I'll have to wait for it to be released properly by the band? Seems a bit silly that it can't be d/loaded afterwards!
