I begin to like a band called the Broken Bells. I have to admit at first they only attracted my attention because of their name (the similarity in the name is just too obvious but I've been listening to them and think they are quiet good for all the crap which is released today. The Broken Bells are James Mercer and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse), both well known musicians who founded this duo. Their music is very unique, I cannot really describe their style - something between indie, rock, pop, electronic and also a bit of retro style in it. However, the word Bells in band title seems to be a guarantor for good quality music ;D . I think I'm going to buy their CD. Here are some tracks of their new album: The high road www.youtube.com/watch?v=36Gy_0H-ka8The ghost inside (live) www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkI8QQkFA2kVaporize www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tstDvkpDlw&feature=related

Yeah I've been listening to them for a few months (album leaked 4 months before release, ouch)... really like 'em. What I don't like is that, when I search for "broken bells" in my iTunes, it finds HB's Broken Bones as well You might also dig the Shins if you like this (same leadsinger).

Indeed it is; I was introduced to Shins by the film Garden State which has a gorgeous soundtrack (and is otherwise also worth checking out). Chutes Too Narrow is considered to be Shins' best album, but I like all three. Wincing Away The Night is a bit of a grower and thus harder to get into. You said you like Coldplay and Snow Patrol right? I could make a seperate thread for this but not sure if the inactivity of this forum warrants that - I hightly recommend Doves, been really into them recently.
