Good one Mike, the Youtube King. The venue looks as big as my front room, but small is good, for those attending anyway.
I'm not big on equipment, but have they all got new guitars? Joel's definitely looks like a Carlos Santana-style Gibson - I've never seen him with one of those before. Juanita's and Brendan's look new too.

I think the one Joel's using might have previously appeared in the Setting Sun video.

Fun to watch Joel hammering away on his instrument like that.

Yes, you're right skeffo. I've checked a few videos today and he also played this guitar on the 2006 'Low Happening' video from Fox8 Aus TV. Must have been in storage for three years!
And Juanita's guitar isn't new either. She has a mainly red one with a white bit and a mainly white one with a red bit. Don't know the make........
But Brendan's bass.... every video I've seen has all four tuning thingies (don't know the technical term) at the top but the bass he uses in these vids has two at the top and two at the bottom. Looks new to me.

Thanks for the uploads. Not so fond of the Low Happening performance you've posted - they have better ones....but it's still ok. I think Juanita had some minor difficulties with her voice on Thursday, you hear it a bit on Cities burning down. In my opinion the performance from yesterday is way better: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2mZZMPZe40the gorgeous ending: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuIAfdlgDyY

Here's a backstage interview with Joel and Brendan from the Homebake Festival. www.novafm.com.au/Video_Homebake-09-Howling-Bells_96914The interviewer asks "What can we expect from the third album?" They don't really answer but Brendan twice says "We've hit our sound" without saying what that sound is. But they do talk about Peter Green and early Fleetwood Mac so is that a clue? Brendan also says they've recorded some demos. The Secret Garden Festival they talk about was in August 2006, near Cambridge, UK. There's a paragraph about their Homebake performance here (you have to scroll down a long way): andpluckyourstrings.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/homebake-2009-review/#more-186

Haha, nice. I like that secret garden story. The confidence Brendan and Joel exude about the next album is palpable and sounds very promising. So, I am very excited about what's in store.

Great to see the boys again...Joels' hair is a bit too long ;D
They really look very confident about the new album and of course they cannot tell us everything yet. Does not sound like the new album is coming out in the first half of 2010

Here he is with a nice haircut. This picture makes me think of that neighbor I was referring to that could pass himself off as Joel. If I had never seen Joel before I would think that my neighbor was posing with a few new friends. ;D

That is a really nice haircut. I like that picture too. They look to be having a nice time. Also, I'm not sure my neighbor would think that would be a very good idea. ;D
