The single is dispatched and in route to my brother (who has a little recording studio and all the right tools to capture from vinyl). It is coming from the UK, so not sure how long it will take, but once it's here, I'll let everyone know.

Wow, it actually sounds a bit... retro. Wasn't expecting that. Very nice track, though. How come all these b-sides sound so much better than album tracks? All the better for collectors like us though ;D

Digital Hearts arrived - my brother is in the processing of converting - should have something within 24 hours or so.
He's also scanning in all the artwork, etc.
Once a file is ready, does it need to be posted anywhere specifically? Or an online site like Megaupload or Rapidshare is okay?

Yeah megaupload or rapidshare would work, we can always upload it somewhere else if people request it.
Thanks a lot!

Finally, here is the rip from the 7": www.megaupload.com/?d=1HES2PBBIt's about 15MB. Two audio files, both in AAC format @ 256 kbps (hopefully this is okay). Also scanned artwork from the release. Please enjoy. And I have to admit, "Stories" does sound really good.

Ta very much for that. I love the way Juanita's Aussie accent comes through when she sings the word "hearts".
A technical question - does anybody know what you need in the way of equipment/software/cables etc to do a conversion from vinyl?

I believe audio out to the computer, to a capture device, and then some software to clean it up a little.
This is my brother's expertise - I'll ask him what he used exactly for the Digital Hearts 7"

Love it. Thank you so much!
Between The Spirited Ones, Hearts&Armor and this HB have released some really impressive b-sides for Radio Wars. Since they don't feel as overproduced, I'm guessing the producer let them have more freedom when creating these tracks.

Thanks! I DID buy the 7", but the seller I bought it off (after I asked where the 7" was) told me that he can't get hold of it And I've STILL NOT had a refund

That's no good is it? Where have you tried? Why do they say they have it in stock when they don't? I've just checked the juno.co.uk link above and they don't have it in stock. And I've just checked norman records and they don't have it. But Townsend records say it's in stock (or rather, they don't say it's out of stock): www.townsend-records.co.uk/product.php?pId=10003402&pType=1

I just bought Digital Hearts 7", there were two on ebay so there should be one more out there if anyway was looking for it.
I have a record player, but don't have one that turns it into mp3 :-(
This may sound silly, but i could record the sound on a camera and upload it just so people can hear what it sounds like? or is that a lame idea?

Matt - you need to look at page 3 of this thread. Tremolo has uploaded an mp3, but to save you a click, here it is: www.megaupload.com/?d=1HES2PBBYour idea would have worked but the sound quality may not have been too great. On a related subject, I've been recording some of my tapes, whcih I haven't played for years, to mp3. It's a bit long winded, but here goes. I've connected a tape deck to the pc using a lead with 3.5mm jack plugs at both ends - from the headphones socket on the deck to the line-in socket on the pc. Then I found a sound recording software - Power Sound Editor Free, but there are others, which you can download for free from here: www.download.comYou can set the audio software to record from a few sources - pick 'line-in'. The software has various filters and noise reduction processes but I found they either had no noticeable effect or ruined it completely, so I ended up not bothering with any of them. The recording is saved as a wav file, so you then need a converter software to convert it to mp3. There are loads of free converter softwares on www.download.com. You could record from a record deck the same way by connecting the headphone socket from the amp to the line-in on the pc. But the headphone socket on an amp is usually bigger (6mm?) so you'll need an 6mm male/3.5mm female adapter, or a cable with a 6mm jack plug at one end and a 3.5mm jack plug at the other. I could do that except that my record deck is at one side of the room and the pc at the other so I need either to re-arrange the furniture or get a 6m long cable!
