Saw them for the 3rd time last night and was blown away.Wow ! The new album sounds amazing live as do the old classics. At times I was really taken somewhere else especially as the music is so interesting and has so many layers. And the band have really developed as players too.My only slight complaint is that To L.A. didn't work so well as an encore but would have been great mid set.Does anyone have a set list from this show please? Juanita being a total babe and dancing her way around the stage in a new, sensual and exciting way, is just the icing on the cake. Really hope to see them in a (sunny) field soon

Hah, weird, was my third time seeing them last night as well. As usual, they played great. Shame about the sound though, there were spots where it seemed we were either getting Juanita's guitar or Joel's (who was far too low throughout) Methinks it's time they got a new soundman...

I thought the sound was pretty good actually although The (wonderful) Joy Formidable suffered with this a bit.
Shame the crowd were rather quiet and still - I think Juanita got frustrated by this esp. seeing as it was a full house(or close) and, as a result swore at the crowd. I was surprised that the audience were much older than when I last saw the band and think has played a part in why the reaction was muted.I m no spring chicken but I was dancing and whooping whilst plenty near me weren't.

Fourth time for me seeing the band. 2 times support and 2 times as the main band. Only once - when I saw them downstairs at 'the old zodiac' was the sound right. It was OK on thursday - but the Drums were way too loud at the start and were not right for the whole gig - a guy actually shouted out after the first song - turn the drums down (not me). Let me state that I love this band - and have tried to turn a fair few freinds and family onto the Howling Bells - but I think there are things they could improve on... The sound - as mentioned. A bit more interaction with the crowd - even if its - what do you think of the new stuff? The way the merch is displayed and sold - See how Joy Formidable (good band) presented their t shirts etc. - and not selling stuff until after the gig - I consider a mistake... I may be wrong but I did not see the new cd or cities burning down for sale... I have heard a few friends say that they have preferred the support bands to the Bells (not me again) which I cannot understand - listen to the cds - or see them when the sound is right and they will blow you away. To end on an up note - Golden web was great live, as was all of the old stuff - strange encore choice - though it is I guess the 'surprise' last song on the album... I can't wait to see them when the sound is right and the crowd is a bit more into it (perhaps when the new songs are a bit better known...). In the meantime I will continue to champion the HB cause to all who will listen!

Hi
I'm looking forward to seeing HB next week.
Could someone post a copy of the setlist they are playing on this tour please? I'm hoping that they are still including 'The Night Is Young' and 'Broken Bones' :-)
Thanks
Rob
