Q Radio and eMusic, the UK’s no.1 site for independent music, are recognising the massive rise in successful artists signed to independent labels with a special programme dedicated to the underdogs of the music world. This online TV debate will address head-on all the issues and politics surrounding independent music and consider the impact the indie scene is having on the rapidly changing music industry. The programme will feature a live performance by The Howling Bells, brand new to the Q playlist with single Cities Burning Down, and you’ll be able to watch the show right here from Wednesday, February 11. Source: news.q4music.com/2009/01/get_up_to_35_free_songs_from_e.htmlDoes this mean they'll be on emusic's site performing? or on Q?

I reckon that's the important bit - it says ' right here' so I'd imagine there will be a stream on the website the quote was taken from (the link?) and it also says " from Wednesday...." so I'd think they may keep it on to watch after it's happened. I'll certainly be trying to find out beforehand though, that's for sure ! Nice find.

Do you have to sign up or subscribe or anything to watch?

That qradio page is a maze.. I couldn't find any listing of the performance on their schedule, and nothing on emusic's site (other than you can't download HB albums in the US...).. I do see a podcast download area on the qradio page, so maybe it'll appear there...

I've just watched it all the way through and, to be honest, it's rather dull, apart from the very high highlight of the acoustic Treasure Hunt.
There are two things worth commenting on - one, Juanita's refusal to acknowledge what they did before Howling Bells ("We were in different bands," is all she said when asked) and the fact that Glenn was captioned as "Glenn Rainbow"!

I wouldn't say she was refusing to acknowledge anything... she just didn't go out of her way to mention Waikiki - makes sense when you're in a new band, really. She didn't seem reluctant to talk about it if that's what you're suggesting... Here's the mp3 version of Treasure Hunt (acoustic) if anyone's interested: www.megaupload.com/?d=RT58MJZM

Yes, 'refusal' was too strong a word wasn't it? I should maybe have said that she was 'disinclined' to talk about it, or something like that.
Thanks for the mp3.
