I mentioned in the "Waikiki CD Sleeves" thread that someone (I know not whom, but apparently he's called 'Hoogiman') has set up a page for Waikiki on Wikipedia, but that the Discography therein was nowhere near complete. Xanthein challenged me to update it, so I've done my best, and I hope I haven't trodden on anybody's toes. See here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waikiki_(band)The _(band) bit is part of the link, so copy and paste it into your browser thingy. P.S. I'm just watching The Killers on Jools Holland (the Bells have supported them before but I've never really heard them) and they don't do owt for me.

Wow, I didn't realize how Waikiki was that successful either. It shows they really care about their music with a passion if they were able to throw away their pop-ier and perhaps more commercial sounding band for something they really believed in, that might not be as raido-accessible. (Except for "Into the Chaos" that might be their most radio-friendly song, without it sounding mainstream)
I'd love to see the Bells on Jools Holland. There's a channel in the US that plays it, two weeks after it airs in England, but it'd be great to watch. Hopefully with this album, they'll have the exposure to play on Jools.I'd love to see them live with tv quality--that might tide me over until they do their own tour in the US, which I hope they will do with this album!

I've always wondered if they might make it on to Jools - they're the type of group he might like and it's the type of show they'd be well received on. You probably know this already, but Jools was keyboard player with Squeeze in the late 70s/early 80s ("Up the Junction" and all that, which, unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember) and he is v.good on the old piano.
Oh, and I must apologise to all you non-UK English-speaking people (like livslovesmusique) for using the word "owt" earlier. Lee will know this cos he's from Liverpool, but "owt" is the northern English word for "anything". Similarly, "nowt" means "nothing" and "summat" means "something". Glad I've cleared that up!

Fantastic! A great job updating the Wiki page! Only two small things:-
Track 1 on the Here Comes September single: - Here Comes September (Single Version with Ending)
Track 1 on the Complicated single: - Complicated (Single Version)
Both tracks are different to the album versions

Loving the update of this wiki page - it's always been a bit short.
If there's anything you need to know to finish it then let me know - I've managed to get all the singles so can, at the very least, drop the "Lucky" details and other nuggets:-
LIEBSP4052.2 01 Lucky (3:37) 02 It's Alright (2:36) 03 Under The Bed (2:49)
"Here Comes September" has a normal and digi release with the same tracks but different cat nos - the normal is LIBSP4047.5 and the digi is LIBSP4047.2
The digi of "New Technology" came with a limited promo sticker and the album came with four different sleeves and a sheet of stickers.
Any help?

Marvellous stuff and ta very much. Me and Xanthein have been searching for the "Lucky" track listing for ages. Do you have the catalogue numbers for "New Technology" and "Complicated" and have I got the years of release right?
Different covers and sheets of stickers eh? I didn't get any stickers, but I did by the CD through Amazon.
I contacted somebody at Redeye records in Aus about getting hold of the singles but he said they are rare and go for big money, though I did get "Here Comes September" from them.
Any chance of uploading the unheard b-sides somewhere so we can all listen?
These ones:
Mad and Beautiful 3:08 Stoney's Mountain of Gold 4:02 It's Alright 2:36 Under The Bed 2:49 Did I (Live on Triple J) 2:43 Enough (Live on Triple J) 3:58

Alright! Thanks so much! Is it possible you could upload the single versions of New Technology and Lucky? So far, I've discovered that single versions of Complicated and Here Comes September are different to the album.

Thanx for the uploads (not had chance to listen to them yet but I've burnt them on to CD) and the sleeve/sticker pics. How did you get the "New Technology" CD signed ?

I was lucky enough to just receive them that way! I bought them from Aus and that's how they were when they arrived - I guess they were shop promo signings or equiv. More than a little lucky, if you'll excuse the pun !

Righto, here goes:-
New Technology
Possibly the same recording, but it is slighty rawer in the mix than the album version. The single version is 3.01 long, compared to 3.43 for the album version.
Here Comes September
Like New Technology, this appears to be the same recording, but mixed differently to the album version. 3 seconds shorter than the album version, but it ends, instead of fading out.
Lucky
EXACTLY the same as the album version
Complicated
Exactly the same length, appears to be the same recording. yet again is a different mix. The most different of the 3 single versions. Far better than the album version if you ask me.
