Pity they're not playing Sheffield or Leeds. I had to wait till the football fixtures came out before deciding. We've got Wednesday (boo!) at home on October 15th so I could make Manchester. We'll see.
But I have seen them live five times already (nearly as many times as Howling Bells!).

The Manchester show was absolutely... um... Formidable as it goes! They played as well as ever, if not better, and the sellout crowd was unrelentingly wild the Entire time! Joy! It's truly been great watching them develop over the last 2 1/2 years, they're such a happy, confident and polished act now, and were hilarious bantering with the crowd and one another. This time round they hit into some older stuff alongside the usual epics - Ostrich and Greyhounds in the Slips, two truly beautiful songs that to my shame had gotten past me to a degree. Greyhounds is similar to Into The Sky with it's pronounced key-changes from major to minor in the verses, and I can't help but think it was maybe an inspiration for the latter. You can download it free from their website-store if you ain't already. Promisingly, Ritzy mentioned during their set that after they've done a little more touring this Nov - Dec - they'll be working on their new album for next year....

I just found a fairly decent vid of the entirity of TJFs homecoming Koko gig last may (10th, night after Howling Bells' Scala gig). Epic memories, utube doesn't really do it justice but still. youtu.be/0SQcwiQwKcw

TJF will be playing 'HB style' at The (rather intimate & bourbon-rich) Lexington on Tues 21st August; I'm guessing this'll be the first / trial airing of some new songs?
Tickets onsale Friday. Luck be with you!!
I've got the days off, just need the tickets. doubt it'll do much for my cred card balance but I guess we all have a weakness & music is mine /winge
Details to follow whenever available.

Indeed - honestly thanks so much for the pointer Blade, the non-presale tix sold out in under 60 seconds according to some posts to the TJF facebook; so it would've taken some luck to get one! It'll be a Very special show to get to!

To chime in following above, another of their new album tracks (also the first single they'll release off it), Cholla is here on utube (+ some talk from Huw Stephens & Ritzy). Also they're going to be touring Autumn. Edit: vid's out now:

Hmm, This Ladder's been out in the US for a while paired with Cholla but I don't think it's on release in the UK yet.. I don't think they've announced a date for that yet. The Cholla EP is out though and has a fantastic b side, plus acoustic version and a really good remix.
Must say I'm beyond impressed with all we've heard of their new work so far, actually since they stole my heart back a year or two ago then I'm somewhat lost for words presently.
I'll be going to the Norwich, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and London shows.
