You'll want to put on a pair of headphones for this one. www.upl.co/upload/r8Ek9Zp2N(along the lines of (and from the same music label as) Stars - there really are some amazing bands over in Canadia)

I like them already and will listen to more! Remind me a bit of Au Revoir Simone (who are from Brooklyn NY, not Canada). More here, including videos: www.myspace.com/forestcityloversAnother Canadian band I've discovered in the last couple of months is Braids, who are hard to compare to anybody else I've ever heard. Have a listen and you'll see what I mean. Their music has been described thus: "chilling, meticulously crafted pop music. Layering angelic four-part vocal harmonies over swirling synths, twinkling pianos, tropical guitars and stuttering, sophisticated rhythms, their arrangements are lush and obsessively detailed. The eye of this storm is frontwoman Raphaelle Standell Preston, imbuing Braids’ songs with Bjorkian banshee shrieks, unexpected ululations and pigtailed curlicues."www.myspace.com/braidsmusic

Didn't even know Braids are Canadian, have been listening to them for the past 2 months. Canada really does have the best music scene at the moment. No Justin Bieber can change that.
I'm also really getting into Mother Mother, but that's somewhere on the other side of the indie rock spectrum (weird psychedelic/experimental/folky stuff, along the lines of Of Montreal, who ironically aren't from Canada).
