Hi, Before I start, I'd just like to say that I think Howling Bells' first album is the best debut album in history. But I just discovered a band from the 90's called curve. Apparently they're the band garbage stole their sound from, except curve are far darker and more venomous. These 5 songs really hooked me Coast is Clear Clipped Think and Act In Disguise Coming up Roses ......
They may not be everyone's cup of tea but if your looking for some fresh new sounds to soak your brain in for a while check them out.

Welcome aboard lantanaman!
I think I used to have a Curve album in the mid 90s but lost it when I got burgled. I'll have to check them out again.

Whilst I like Curve and respect them as a band and call me biased but I am genuinely sick of the comparisons to Garbage - its a lazy comparison which has little merit as they are two very different bands, with equally great back catalogues. I think both bands share a lot the same pool of influences but I think they brought very different things to the table. It's too easy to criticise Garbage who have to an extent a more melodic sound, many of Garbage's songs like Vow, Push It and Subhuman are dark venomous songs. I'm not criticising you per se it's something the media spun years ago.
Anyway I fell in love with Chinese Burn when it featured in an episode of Buffy, other songs off the top of my head like Hell Above Water are very good. Doppelgänger is a good record as well.
