Morcheeba are a British band who have been around since the mid 1990s. They fuse togther elements of rock, R&B, jazz, reggae and dance to produce a unique sound, rounded off by the smooth and silky voice of Skye Edwards. You've probably all heard Morcheeba without realising it as it's amazing how often you hear them as background music in trendy cafes and bars. They create just the right sort of ambience for such places. Skye left in 2003 and was replaced by a new singer called Daisy Marty, who didn't last long, then Jody Sternberg. But as everybody knows, when you change the singer you change the band entirely. The good news is that Skye Edwards is back with the band, rejoining earlier this year, so it'll be interesting to see how they progress from here. Check out anything from their first three albums Who Can You Trust?, Big Calm or Fragments of Freedom. You'll be surprised how much you've heard before. Crimson is my favourite from the new album. Even Though is good one too. I donĀ“t think that the whole album is not that good but the good parts are excellent. My favourite triphop/downtempo-combo.

Thanks Blade, for reminding me what a great song "Rome wasn't Built in a Day" is. I bought it when it first came out, but back then my untrained ears couldn't hear past Skye Edwards' beautiful voice. This time though, I was humbled by the incredible craftsmanship of the rhythm section. Oh, and I loved the dance choreography in the film clip.
