Hi I haven't seen a thread about this so I thought I would post one. New tour dates have been announced in the NME today and they are as follows... 03/03/09 Bristol Fleece 04/03/09 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms 05/03/09 Zodiac @ O2 Academy Oxford 06/03/09 Brighton Digital 08/03/09 Birmingham Barfly 09/03/09 Norwich Arts Centre 10/03/09 Newcastle Cluny 11/03/09 Glasgow Classic Grand 13/03/09 Aberdeen Moshulu 14/03/09 Sheffield Plug 15/03/09 Manchester Club Academy 16/03/09 O2 Academy Liverpool It says in the ad that tickets are available from www.LiveNation.co.uk but when I looked it came up with no listings for Howling Bells. There are tickets available for some shows at www.wayahead.com though I tried to get tickets for the Sheffield date by ringing the venue but they didn't seem to be aware of it! Rob

Marvellous! The dates are on the Myspace page too so they must be right. I'm away for a few days from March 26th and I feared the tour might clash but no! Sheffield and Manchester for me!

It's not on seetickets, ticketmaster or The Plug's own website (www.the-plug.com). I'll call in at The Plug on Saturday and ask if it hasn't been listed anywhere by then.
Ticketmaster only lists the O2 Islington and Glasgow gigs. I'm sure all the dates will appear on the various ticket websites soon.

I've just read that a band called "Future Of The Left" are supporting Howling Bells, at Newcastle at least.

Sweet, it'll only be my second time seeing a band I really like live! ... if I can get tickets that is. Sheffield is closest to me... so blade, can you do me a huge favour and post here if you've managed to find tickets for the Sheffield gig? I'm sorta new to the whole ticket buying thing (in the UK anyway) =]

They're playing The Cluny in Newcastle - epic WIN!
Top place, nice location, good food and beer.
See you folks there - walking down to venue to buy my ticket in 90mins time!

As Toyah once sang, Itth A Mythtery. I went into The Plug Box Office in the centre of Sheffield this afternoon armed with the tour poster copied from the Myspace page, pointed out March 14th and asked if tickets were on sale yet.
However, the very nice young lady behind the desk had no knowledge of it. She double checked on the computer and they have only one band booked for March 14th - The Magi (a local band). Could they be supporting Howling Bells?, I asked. Don't think so, she replied.
I told her the tour was publicised on Howling Bells Myspace page, in NME and on various websites but she said The Plug definitely hasn't been booked. She said the same thing had happened a couple of times with other bands in recent months. She suggested that the venue and the band's agent may have discussed it but never confirmed, and maybe the agent thinks it's confirmed, but it's not.
By conicidence (or not), exactly the same thing happened three years ago at the same venue (March 13th 2006 to be precise, so it was three years and a day) when it was advertised that Howling Bells were playing but suddenly it disappeared from the lists with no explanation.
There are various email addresses on the Bells' Myspace page (bookings people etc) so I'll give them a tinkle and try to find out what's going on.

Hi Blade Thanks for posting the info about The Plug venue in Sheffield. I rang them yesterday but got the same response as you did. Looks like it's just Manchester for me then! I'm not complaining though, just glad that I'm going to get to see them again Rob

Alright man, thanks for going through all that trouble... and for keeping us updated ;D If Sheffield isn't happening I'm not sure if I'm going all the way to Manchester yet...

Got tickets for the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, they were great last time I saw them there, so am looking forward to it! I got them direct from the venue for those thinking of going to this one: www.wedgewood-rooms.co.ukSeemed the cheapest place to get them, rather than See Tickets etc
