if it's anything like Golden Web. Ooooh, let's hope that's the case - that would really make my day !

Point taken Lee! I admonish myself for making such a silly suggestion. So back to the music. Something I've noticed that is a lot different from the first album is how much many of the songs are drums driven rather than guitar driven. Drums usually set and maintain the tempo but here Glenn seems to be playing lead drums rather than rhythm drums. I'm not a drums expert but that seems an innovative approach to me.

Yeah, the drums are a lot higher in the mix this time around. Also, is it just me, or are the songs much less riff-based than on Howling Bells? I think that's why things like the guitar in Nightingale have so much more impact. It's a great use of a 'less is more' dynamic.

Having only heard Into The Chaos (which I love) - can anyone (as hard as this may be) possibly describe any of the other material they may have heard as I'm dying to hear this new record as I'm sure I speak for everyone here but it appears most of you have already heard quite a bit of it..

Hmm.... how do you describe music in words?
To borrow from other reviews I've read, if the first album was Film Noir, Radio Wars is Technicolor Widescreen.
If the first album was finding your way through a misty forest on a cold night, this one is romping through the cornfields in warm, bright sunlight.
As has been mentioned previously, guitar is less prominent on most of the songs, with drums to the fore on some of them. There is a constant background of music in which it is sometimes difficult to discern what instruments are playing - bit of guitar, bit of keyboards, bit of strings even - but that's in no way a criticism.
The song most like Into the Chaos is probably Digital Hearts or maybe It Ain't You, or perhaps even Ms Bells Song, while the only real slow, melancholy song is the last one, How Long.
Golden Web is very clever, with Juanita singing, "I've been bitten by a...." and Joel and Brendan finishing the sentence with ".....spider..."
How've I done? Others please add to this....

Sounds cool - I know slightly ridiculous thing to ask but it helps!

I'd just add that if you loved the first album then there's no need for a caveat emptor on the second one.
A few will be pleasantly surprised but nobody will be disappointed.

I've just had to look that up! For those who didn't do Latin at school, it means "Let the buyer beware", or in this case, as Carpathian rightly says, there is no need for the buyer to beware.

None of us know...... Juanita just said there's a track missing from the leaked version and the missing one is one of her favourites. That's all we know.

Wild horses won't prevent me from buying the new album, in spite of hearing the leaked version, even if it means going without food for a week! It's got nothing to do with the leaked version being mp3, and nothing to do with the missing tracks. It has, however, got EVERYTHING to do with the fact that it's Howling Bells, and they really are THAT good. As a massive fan, I have to own it!! I'm pre-ordering it asap. The wait is on....

Thirded! If such word exists.
Into The Chaos is great enough to make me want to buy the album, with no need to hear the rest of the record in advance. Also because their first album is undoubtedly one of my all-time favourites.
